The 2022 Academy Awards are over, but everyone is only talking about one thing, right?
How did CODA win best picture???
Ok, maybe not EVERYONE – just the people who fell asleep during Chris Rock’s “G.I. Jane” roast of Will Smith’s wife, Jada, followed by the punch/slap heard ’round the world.
Pretty cool that we all got to witness the birth of a new meme.
Was it real? Was it staged? Do we care? Should Chris Rock have told that joke? Probably not. Should Will Smith have slapped him? Also, probably not.
But before we move on, let’s have a laugh first. Here’s a collection of the best 2022 Academy Awards tweets. (Spoiler: they’re all about Will Smith and Chris Rock)
Can’t wait to see what happens when Jada starts dating Pete Davidson.

Sorry, but I am a man, and if you just did to me what Will Smith did to Chris Rock, there is no way in the world I’m just taking it and not immediately saying, “My wife,” in a Borat voice.
— Noah Garfinkel (@NoahGarfinkel) March 28, 2022
If Will Smith had done that to Dave Chappelle, Chappelle would be into his third uninterrupted hour of Jada jokes.

— mark normand (@marknorm) March 28, 2022
Will Smith will not tolerate other men making jokes about his wife. He will however tolerate other men having sex with his wife. This is a man of principle.
